Immanuel Lutheran School is Northern Colorado's premier Christian school. Immanuel offers a Christ-centered education with academic excellence in preschool through eighth grade and an extended childcare program. Since its beginning in 1977, Immanuel has been assisting parents with the responsibility of educating children. Through Christian education, our faculty and staff is committed to helping your child develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.
While the school is an integral part of the ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, it serves the entire communities of Loveland, Fort Collins, Berthoud, and Windsor. More than 75% of the student body is comprised of students from churches other than Immanuel. More than 50 area churches are currently represented in our enrollment.
Unchanging Values
Christ's love is the motivating force for Immanuel and drives our philosophy, our curriculum, and the operation of the school. The Bible provides eternal truth for all subjects and learning experiences. Students at Immanuel develop an understanding of the balance between God's Law and Gospel and how they apply to our lives today. Students learn to understand that they are wonderfully made, and that each of them is loved by God.
Academic Excellence
At Immanuel, we strive to deliver academic training that is unsurpassed in Northern Colorado. Our annual standardized testing is proof! According to standardized assessment results, Immanuel annually places in the top 6% nationwide . Individual grade levels frequently place in the top 1% nationwide. Our graduating students are frequently recognized for their academic achievements and work ethic in high school.
The curriculum at Immanuel is taught to meet standards set by Lutheran schools and by the state of Colorado. Our teachers are Christian men and women dedicated to sharing their faith in Christ with their students, and all are certified graduates of accredited institutions. Immanuel undergoes a periodic assessment by a well-recognized accrediting process called National Lutheran School Accreditation.
Relationships
Immanuel exists to assist and complement the efforts of parents to teach their children. Relationships between teachers and parents, between teachers and students, and between students themselves are all extremely important to us. The most important relationship of all is between the students and Jesus. These relationships are nurtured and enhanced at Immanuel through communication, love, and prayer. Students experience friendships based on Christian love and concern for each other both in and out of the classroom. The size and closeness of the student body encourages healthy peer groups. Teachers and parents work together to nurture each student's unique abilities and development.
Serving and Leading Others
Immanuel provides a variety of ways for students to learn to serve God and others with their time, abilities, influence, and possessions. Donations and chapel offering go to help underprivileged children in the U.S. and other countries. Servant events are organized by younger classes to provide visits to shut-ins or take food to the food bank. Other classes clean the sanctuary weekly, cut and count box tops, and serve as waiters and waitresses at school fund-raising activities.
By learning to serve, students also learn what it takes to lead. Middle school students can take leadership electives and serve on the student council. Classes take turns leading chapel on Wednesday mornings. Through the formation of "chapel families," older students learn to set a good example and help younger students.
Extracurricular Enrichment
Students at Immanuel have many opportunities to interact and grow through a variety of extra-curricular activities, including interscholastic sports, music, and drama. Immanuel fields teams in track, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Avenues for artistic expression include elementary and middle school choirs. Christmas and Spring concerts, band, after school art classes, and the annual middle school musical. Lego Robotics is another example of our after-school offerings.
